AWHL has collaborated with the Society for Physical Disabled (SPD) to support the SPD Ability Fun Walk 2016, held on 10 September 2016 at Punggol Waterway Park.
The Society of Physical Disabled (SPD) is an organisation dedicated to raising awareness and funds for individuals with disabilities, and this collaboration is a key corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiative for AWHL. This partnership reflects AWHL’s commitment to positively impacting society and giving back to the community.
The event features Dr Janil Puthucheary, Minister of State for the Ministry of Communications and Information & Ministry of Education, as the Guest of Honour. As the SPD Queen of Hearts Sponsor, AWHL contributes $30,000, showcasing its dedication to supporting meaningful causes. This year’s walk raises an impressive $220,000, significantly supported by sponsors like AWHL. The funds will aid over 20 essential programs and services, benefiting more than 5,000 people with disabilities.
In addition to its sponsorship, AWHL hosts a spinal health check booth at the post-walk carnival. This initiative offers valuable health assessments and information, emphasising AWHL’s commitment to promoting holistic well-being.
SPD’s mission is to empower individuals with disabilities to reach their full potential and achieve self-reliance and independence. AWHL shares this vision and aims to foster an inclusive and supportive community through its involvement in this event.
